About Peaceful Passage Guide

A Gentle Guide for Life’s Final Chapter

Peaceful Passage Guide is created from more than twenty-three years of walking beside people during their most vulnerable moments. I am Kamala, an end-of-life doula and a licensed clinical social worker (retired). I have spent my career serving multicultural, multi‑faith communities across Northern California and Santa Fe.

A great deal of this time was with the Veterans Administration, assisting in the development of hospice care policy on both community and national levels. This time was valuable, as it taught me that death is not only a medical reality, but a very human one as well. Today, I provide holistic care that is soft, non-medical, and based on my conviction that every person has a right to be seen, heard, and held as they face their final transition on this earth.

Here is how one International End-of-Life Doula defines for all of us just What Is An End-Of-Life Doula?

What Is an End-of-Life Doula?

An end-of-life doula, also known as a death doula or end of life death doula, is someone who is with you in quiet presence and open heart. This is not a medical role. It is holistic death care that is emotional, spiritual, and practical.

We will discuss what is most important to you. We will make space for peace, meaning and connection in life’s final chapter. I will have conversations that may be hard. I will bring your family together. And I will ensure your voice is heard in all that is done.

I am not replacing hospice or clergy. I am simply adding to them. I am a circle of care surrounding you with compassion.
